Synopsis

BURNING QUESTIONS While Huntress is doing some research at the library, she is distracted by an explosion during New York Fashion Week, and is compelled to leap into the flames and rescue supermodels from being burnt to a crisp. Quickly, she notices the hints of accelerant in the air, and tracks the clues until she spots the likely culprit sneaking out a back door. Worriedly, she chases the figure down, hoping to intercept before the arsonist can get to one of the two subway stations close by and disappear.  Meanwhile, Karen Starr is annoyed to find that her employees and board members have failed to retrieve her Starr Industries assets, despite the culprits who stole them having admitted to their crime, and the imposter who had posed as Michael Holt has disappeared. Grumpily, she demands that they resolve this quickly.   Huntress keeps up long enough to discover that her mark is a woman with powers, which, at least, will make it difficult for her to disappear into a crowd - particularly since she just got onto a 90-second stop train. Unfortunately, Helena isn't fast enough to get through the doors as well, and ends up chasing it down the tracks.   Karen is busy picking out outfits she can wear on the business magazine circuit, given that she intends to play the mogul again. Her decision-making process is undeterred by Helena's arrival through the window, as her friend comments that she would prefer to see Karen wearing her Power Girl suit. Unfortunately, Karen's powers have been on the fritz - and their loss is just one more of many that are driving her to distraction. Even as Helena explains what she went through that evening, Karen spots smoke on the horizon, and offers to fly her friend there - though the flight may not be the safest.   Helena soon notices that this fire is also home to a Fashion Week event, which spells a pattern. While she hurries inside to find the arsonist again, Karen tries to put the fire out by drawing water from a lake to the flames. Though she hopes to catch up to the strange woman, Helena is forced to stop her pursuit to rescue a group of models who have been tied up to burn. With little time, she frees only one of them, and has them free themselves, so she can continue the hunt.   Though she manages to catch sight of her quarry, the arsonist evades her with the use of her powers again. This time, though, Karen is there to help - but she doesn't do well, with her powers off-kilter. Once again, the arsonist escapes, and Karen is left feeling as though she needs to get her life back.
